Fair enough. missed the logic leap there. I think I'd be ok with that. Football wise that conference looks decent.. bball wise... ugh.

In other words, all is well, nothing to see here. If this is true, this guy will not hold onto his job much longer. Even the Texas schools have got to be upset about the current television situation. If the Big12 doesn't get something in the works before 2016 then the conference will be all done.

Re: Saving the Big 12
ISU needs to start it's own conference. I'd call it the "Way, Totally Awesome Conference 12".

I think if they leave, they will join with the Pac 10 or possibly the SEC.
I really think the most likely scenario is Mizzou and possibly Colorado to leave (mizzou to b10, CU to P-10) and the rest of the conference stays + 2-4 teams.
If we could get some sort of Pac 10/B 12 network as the article talks about, it would be so good for the conference and ISU.

If you think the Pac-10 is a leap geographically, can you imagine a conference that extended from up-state NY to southern Texas?

If major realignment occurs, with Mizzou and Nebraska going to the Big 10, Colorado heading to the Pac 10, and OSU sticking with Oklahoma wherever it goes, that is an absolute pipe dream.
If major realignment occurs, the so-called "Big 8" is dead.

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

If we could get some sort of Pac 10/B 12 network as the article talks about, it would be so good for the conference and ISU. So then here's the issue. If Texas won't go to the SEC for academic reasons, and they are joined at the hip to aTm and OU, then why would the Pac 10 want to add that much power if the Big 10 won't?
I would imagine Oregon and USC would have something to say about that.

Beebe's job is to make sure that the deck is stacked in the favor of the big-time football schools in the Big XII. I guarantee that any decision affecting the Big XII conference by this moron in charge will absolutely not take ISU into consideration.
Beebe is obviously an arrogant SOB. He thinks the Big XII is untouchable and much like the captain of the Titanic will find out the hard way that his perception just isn't reality.
