The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

In the Big 12, I think Mizzou and Colorado probably have the least passionate fans. Mizzou and CU grads are more into the Chiefs, Rams, Broncos and Nuggets than they are into Tiger and Buff athletics.
KU and KSU, yes, their fans have a lot of passion

How much longer until college athletics has nothing to do with college?

Re: Besides geographical location, what does Missouri offer the Big 10?
St. Louis is more the reason. KU and K-State dominate KC.

It doesn't matter if they are MU fans, it doesn't matter if they watch, it only matters that they pay for cable or satellite TV How can so many people not understand this? More TV sets = more money ... this is only happening so that the BigTen can make more money! I'm on twitter @mookjnsn ... me, not her. -

As opposed to Nebraska and Mizzou which bring a whole lot.

The Big Ten gets a subscription fee of 70 cents per month per subscriber within the Big Ten footprint. Outside of that area, they only get 10 cents per subscriber. Missouri has a population of 6 million people. Do the math.

BYW . . Your "bring to the table" comment sounds like something Keeler or that radio dude from Omaha would say.

Also, remember you get an extra 1mm+ people in Kansas that are from the KC viewing area as well.

DING! and everyone in the state of Iowa (regardless of if you are an Iowa, ISU, UNI, ND, USC, or hate sports) is already paying ... adding ISU to the BigTen would be having another mouth to feed with the same amount of food. The point of expansion is to increase the payout per team I'm on twitter @mookjnsn ... me, not her. -
Re: Besides geographical location, what does Missouri offer the Big 10?
Mizzou had a strong following. A lot of money pumped into that school between KC and STL.
