Will Texas Save the Big XII?

Re: Will Texas Save the Big XII?
What if the Big 12 and Pac-10 were to just split up the MWC and both become 14 team leagues.

Re: Will Texas Save the Big XII?
Texas and Oklahoma keep the Big 12 strong, would rather have Arkansas instead of Fuskers for sure

Re: Will Texas Save the Big XII?
I've been wondering if this is what Nebraska is trying to accomplish with all this. Maybe they are just complaining about the Big 12 and thinking about going to the Big 10 just to maybe put a little scare into Texas. Make Texas and the Big 12 get revenue sharing or else they will have to make other plans. Now I'm not saying Texas wouldn't just go out and find another gig, but I'm not sure they can find anything as good as they have it now.

Particularly if the tv alliance happens. pac 10 agrees to leave CU alone and Big 12 picks up CSU and TCU. Pac 10 takes Utah, BYU, New Mexico, and UNLV
Leaves SDSU, Wyoming, Air Force on the outs

Or, as Tom Shatel said in his column, Osborne may be trying to convince Texas and A&M to go with him to the Big 10...

Re: Will Texas Save the Big XII?
Texas is part of the reason the Big 12 is in a mess and school are not happy. They control everything and get most of the money, leaving other schools behind. The Big 12 has helped Texas become an even greater school than it was before the Big 12, I dont think you can say the same for other schools in the conference.
The gap in our economy is between what we have and what we think we ought to have--and that is a moral problem, not an economic one. - Paul Heyne -

When are you going to give up this tired piece of **** opinion? The Big 10 is NOT going to give up control of their conference just so they can let the cancer that is Texas into their conference.
Your whining "poor me ISU is going to be a D I-AA school when this is all over" diatribe is getting EXTREMELY OLD...

Texas isn't going to go to the Big 10 without "special concessions." If Texas gets "special concessions", Michigan, Ohio St, and Penn St will want those same concessions, putting the other 8 schools at an extreme disadvantage in revenue similar to what is going on with the Big 12. The other 8 schools will team up and vote a Texas addition down if it puts them at a disadvantage.
That being said, The Big 10 has already said it has no interest in adding Texas, and those that keep bringing it up either refuse to listen to reason or are just stirring the conversation. At this point in time I'd be very comfortable in saying that ISU has a better chance at getting into the Big 10 than Texas.

Re: Will Texas Save the Big XII?
I'm beginning to wonder if Texas could save the Big12 by leaving. It would definitely hurt for now, but it would make for a much healthier conference that could rebuild all of the programs and not have to prop up one to get recognition. If Texas stays, yes we have a conference still, but are any better off or are we just delaying the inevitable?

Re: Will Texas Save the Big XII?
If Texas leaves so does all their tv's and we would be left with a bunch of small states that we couldn't market.
