Beebe to give Neb and Mizzou ultimatum

Well this pretty much shows that Mizzou and NU have been extended offers. Beebe better be busting his *** to get this tv deal done with the PAC 10 or else the Big 12 will be filling these spots with less attractive teams. At this point aside from a BYU, Utah, of Boise State who would join the Big 12, no one from a power conference.

No it doesn't. It doesn't show anything, other than a lack of situational awareness on Beebe's part.

My opinion who would join this conference, how arrogant can you be? The conference is falling apart in front of your face.

My guess? MWC and WAC schools. Even in this model of unequal revenue sharing it HAS to be more revenue than they would typically see in a year from their conferences (and don't start with the "but the MWC has their own network" - short of providing a minimal amount of television viewership it provides nothing else for the conference).

Farbeit from me to stand up for the Big 12, but have you seen our budget in the last 10 years? ISU had what, 10 of 12 FB games on TV in 2008. Yeah, it isn't the big 11, but to say that the conference overall hasn't been a success is pushing it. I think that they need to get the revenue sharing figured out and then get that network going. It may not rival the big 11, but it's going to be way better than we have now.

Hopefully at the meetings the commish and texas, okla, and a&m will realize that without revenue sharing nebraska and missouri will leave. Now they may be able to get another good gig, but I doubt something as good as what they have. So maybe they will approve revenue sharing. Probably not, but hey...I'm an Iowa State fan, I can clearly dream

I know some people on here often post links to the OWH and JournalStar, but probably the best, most unbiased, Nebraska beat writer is Sam McKewon. I say this because he wrote a pretty good article this week when the KC sports station broke the story about Mizzou, Neb, ND, and Rutgers being invited to join the Big 10.

Pollard isn't "going public" because no one in the media is asking him about it, because no one thinks ISU is a serious option to join the Big 10. The only reason Harvey Perlman and Tom Osborne are talking about it is because they are being asked about it all the freaking time. Missouri is the only school that has publicly, without media prompting, stated their interest in the Big 10. If they don't get invited, they are going to look foolish.

If Missouri and Nebraska leave, we only have 6 of the original Big 8 left and then CU has even more reason to go to the Pac 10, assuming that is legit. What is left is a conference I really don't want to be a part of, but yet we may have our hands tied.
