They are not a program with a winning reputation anymore although they act like they do. If Notre Dumb would just wake up to the reality that they need the Big 10 far more then the Big 10 needs them and join then this would all be over. Instead they are choosing to possibly turn college athletics upside down because they won't admit to the reality that they just don't matter in college football anymore.

That gives them 16 teams, they could do east/west with Minny, Iowa, and Ill/Wisc joining the west. Would make a pretty sweet conference. Football right now might be stronger in the east, but Bball would be owned by the west. Tom Izzo, Thad Matta, and Matt Painter called, they respectfully disagree.

Instead of looking west for schools, why not look east:
Pittsburgh
W. Virginia
Syracuse
Louisville
UConn
You will add large television markets, and the east coast.

If you're talking Big 10 expansion, you can forget West Virginia, Louisville, and UConn - first, none of the three are AAU, and second, West Virginia and Louisville certainly aren't of the profile of institution academically that the Big 10 wants in its conference.

Re: From Lincoln
I firmly believe that a major part of the problem is that Beebe and Texas located the conference championship in football in Dallas until 2015 (or whenever, I'm not looking this up) screwing us all of us in the North. I would hope that Nebraska would have enough leverage to have this changed if possible as it would be good for everyone in the North. Does anyone really thing Texas wants to have to compete with Oklahoma and USC every year to even get to the national championship game?

As much as I hate Beebe, you can't pin this one on him - the ADs voted 11-1 on playing the Big 12 Championship game in Dallas at "The Ego" with regards that it would bring in more money than the championship game being played in KC would. Guess who was the only school that voted against this move? Nebraska.
Now, if you want to talk about the offices moving to Dallas and the general power shift moving south almost immediately, go ahead - but keep in mind for the most part the North ALLOWED much of that to happen.

They have called the shots. You blame the big 10 for looking to expand, but don't look at texas who has gotten whatever they have wanted? All while the rest of the conference gets screwed. Whoa.

Sorry, I should have clarified.....why doesn't the "Big 12" look east if teams need to be replaced.
