Re: Fox sports tv contract
This is key:
The Big 12 would have to stay intact for the contract to be valid, with Nebraska a must-have (no word on Mizzou)
So, I guess if the rumor about Nebraska is true, then it's a definite no-go.

Re: Fox sports tv contract
It could work with MLB. Fox has lost a lot of the playoff rights to TBS. There may have to be one weekend where a Saturday night World Series game is on instead of college football. Otherwise, it could work.
They couldn't do football all-day due to day games through September. But into late October/November, it could work.

Well, HuskerLand says that they are moving to the Big Ten, so moot point I guess...

It's pretty easy to move a CFB game or two around to make sure the World Series is in prime time. They could easily have an 11am game and a 2:30 game and still put baseball on at 7pm.

Big 12 officials have been complaining about the weakness of the Big 12 TV contract for a few years. I'm certain they approached Fox and tried to renegotiate that crappy contract, but Fox basically said "No way, wait until the current contract expires." Well, I think we all know where that has lead us.
