WTF is he doing now? To hear him this morning, he was dancing on ISU's grave. What is this?

Like I said in another thread I think more and more Hawkeye fans are starting to see this issue in a new light. Who would have thought that something like this could bring ISU and Iowa fans together? As much as I dislike you guys because of athletics I don't want to see this happen to ISU and more importantly the state.

    Re: From HN

I think this is interesting. I've heard a lot of hawkeye fans very much against ISU in the Big 10 but I'm not sure they are looking at this from the best interest of the state and thus U of I. I think this will have a major economic impact on the state as a whole and its not like UI is going to be immune to the effects.

    Re: From HN

If money is what this is all about (and it is) ISU to the Big 10 makes no sense. And it's a shame really, because ISU really fits in that conference better than the Big 12 as well.

You can tell over there that they really arent buying into what he says.. Kudos for trying though.
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

You cant be serious? Why I think academics is part of the decision, it is not even close to the heart of it. $ is first a foremost the number one factor in all this.

I know very little about these things... so forgive me.

While I agree that athletically ISU bring very few $$$ to the table, even fewer tv sets, prestige, etc.... it would seem that alot of the posturing by many is that conference affliation goes well beyond athletics and into research and $$$ there. Many times over the amount of money athletics bring in. Wouldn't ISU be a prime player with our engineering and ag sciences?

I know Purdue is also a top (maybe THE top) engineering school. Does the Big 10 even touch Ag? Indiana maybe?
