Re: Nebraska Regents informally agree to go to Big Ten
Missle crisis is an excellent term for this. We are quickly approaching the point of no return but aren't there quite yet. If this is an old-fashioned stare-down between NU and UT we need cooler heads to prevail and quickly.
This whole drama is another example of new media affecting events. With blogs, twitter etc, these things begin to build an uncontrollable momentum. The loud, visceral outcry from the public is at everyone's fingertips these days, instead of confined to bar stools, kitchen tables and letters to the editor. I do think that shapes the stance leaders of conferences and institiutions take. Not saying this wouldn't go down exactly this way without them, but at least we wouldn't have a new "Nebraska is gone" thread, blog or tweet every hour on the hour. This is a rare situation in which I wish I had less information. Following this story is decidedly not fun. (I know this makes me sound like I'm 60 but I'm not.)

Re: Nebraska Regents informally agree to go to Big Ten
People that are reporting any of this are losing credibility fast. The talk radio homers here in Omaha have already talked with two of the regents and there is no offer and it is impossible to happen this quick. News wouldn't leak like it supposedly has. Whoever is tweeting garbage has zero credibility.

Re: Nebraska Regents informally agree to go to Big Ten
WHB radio in Kansas City is reporting that it is a done deal!! Neb to the big ten as an only team this year, and all Texas schools and Ok. and Ok. state to the pac 10.
That leaves Mu., Kan.,K st., Colo., and ISU alone to go somewhere else.
The pac 10 will take Baylor and not Colo.
