NY Times reporting Colorado to the PAC 10
"Officials from Texas and Texas A&M will meet Thursday morning in Austin in a last-ditch effort to save the Big 12 Conference. The regents, presidents and athletic officials from the universities are scheduled to meet with the hope of figuring out how to keep the conference together now that the departures of Nebraska and Colorado appear imminent."

Any plan.....

Re: NY Times reporting Colorado to the PAC 10
yeah - I'm calling BS on that one. They're meeting to map out the eventual demise of the Pac10 as well.

Re: NY Times reporting Colorado to the PAC 10
Maybe Texas still wants their own network and if the P10 won't take Baylor the Texas legislature won't let Texas leave either??
Stranger things have happened. Heck...then we go back to just adding a couple teams to the B12N and and whammo bammo we are back in business.
Who knows?

I am more interested in Beebe's comments at the end of the story. He did ALL he could? Who is he trying to kid here? All he did was barricade the door to his office, crawl under his desk with his teddy bear, and **** himself.... repeatedly. -
Re: NY Times reporting Colorado to the PAC 10
Wait! Has Radio Texas... I mean Orangebloods, reported that this meeting may be to keep the Big XII together? I wouldn't know what to do with myself if Baylor and Berkley block this PAC-10 news. I would... have to thank a Texas team?!
For "I", for "S", forever!
For Iowa State all the way.
Let's go! To show them what the gang's all here for,
Go! To show them how the Cyclones cheer.
For "I", for "S", forever!
For Iowa State do it right!
It's time to climb up on the vict'ry wagon,
Fight! Iowa State, Fight! Fight! -

Well, Texas is probably going to head to the Pac 10 with a sweeter deal (more markets demanding big payday from FSN) or they'll have no competition in the Big XII and run roughshot over us all even worse.
So Texas's stature is improved. Job well done Mr Beebe

Texas is the biggest reason for the probable demise of the Big 12. They are meeting to talk about the Pac-10, not to save the Big 12. If they try to say otherwise, it is just a PR stunt.

Texas (Voiced by Foghorn Leghorn): OK, does anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, have an idee how we save this here conference sos we don't have to go to the Pac 10?
Texas A&M (Voiced by Baby Huey): Duh... No boss. I got nuttin.
Texas (Voiced by Foghorn Leghorn): Yeah, I'm comin up with blanks myself. Oh well, we tried reeeeeaaal hard, and all this tryin has made me thirsty. How 'bout a Shiner, compliments of our good friends at You-Ess-Sea.
Texas A&M (Voiced by Baby Huey): Duh... I could have a drink. Those Navy boys are nice fellas

You all know that UT could just say "Big 12 isn't going anywhere" and they probably don't lose a dime, right? The Big 12 could totally overcome the loss of NU and CU. Very, very easily. I still don't understand why Texas wants to submit to Pac-10 authority.

You sat on your *** and did nothing saying "the sky is not falling" and this is what you got.
