Did CU just get screwed?
IF Texas and A&M go to the Big10 and the Pac10 doesn't get the South schools they wanted, does CU get really screwed here? If the South schools don't go to the Pac10, they will probably be forced to take Utah to go to 12 teams and likely stop there as was their backup plan. That would also mean that the Pac10 plans of starting a network isn't going to happen (at least to the extent they wanted). CU would have to pay the Big12 buyout and not get the financial benefits they thought they were going to by going to the Pac10. The Pac10 currently doesn't give much more to its schools that the Big12 does and I don't see it improving with CU and Utah added. Since CU is already in financial trouble, this could be a death blow to their athletic department.

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
I'm not sure about CU but the Pac-10 looks really stupid now.

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
Not really. They have wanted the PAC-10 for awhile. They would have gone even if everyone else wasn't going.

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
I wonder if Okie St. jumped the gun on leaving. If UT and ATM and OU are out, then i could see the Pac 10 getting Utah and calling it good. Also, if UT and ATM are in the Big 11, I wonder whether NU still has an invite. We could see the old Big 8 plus TT and Baylor?

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
CU has wanted into the Pac 10 for about as long and probably about as badly as Mizzou has wanted into the Big 10. Unless the Pac 10 has pulled the offer, today is CU's biggest dream come true.

The Pac10 is not reporting that OSU has accepted as they have with Colorado. I think OSU is waiting to see what OU does.

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
No, CU is a decent fit for the Pac10 anyway and have wanted to end up there anyway. OSU is a bigger question is not a good fit; not alone anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if there is no OSU to PAC10 announcement tomorrow. I don't think that is a done deal yet. If the Pac10 doesn't get a bunch of B12 teams and stays with only CU, then they will probably add Utah and go to 12.

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
I think they are just happy to be part of a major conf..
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
colorado is a much better fit for the pac-10 in terms travelling distances..they would continue the role as the ******** cousin and they would only be used as a punching bag like they are in the big 12. however with the recent issues with athletes grades im surprised they still got the invite

Re: Did CU just get screwed?
is anyone up for just nuking austin texas and fixing this problem once and for all. texas is the linchpin for the majority of the issues being caused right now. if texas was gone nebraska wouldnt have gotten ****** and left, and the big 10 would have picked up a team with a better tv following from out east somewhere

Based on driving distances, CU's longest Big 12 trip is 969 miles (A&M).
They have EIGHT Pac-10 schools over 1,000 miles away. Arizona (920) and ASU (880) are the closest.
