Not that I wouldn't have wanted them but it doesn't change the fact we don't bring enough $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

However I would say a turnaround like Snyder at KSU or Beamer at Va Tech would help a lot. Va Tech may be riding their football program, which 20 years ago had a smaller stadium than ISU and was in the A-10, to the penthouse that is the SEC.
Yes the Va Tech is in a more populated area, but their TV sets are already largely covered by UTenn in the SEC and UVa/Maryland/UNC in the ACC.

We happen to be in the middle of a cornfield in an unpopulated state that has two big schools instead of one and the other happened to join up with the right league many years ago. no winning in the world would have changed those facts.

Assuming a Snyder or Beamer type turnaround you do not need to...you've already over come it.

Re: Coach Mac
Now we're blaming Dan McCarney for the demise of the Big 12? Things really have gotten out of hand.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -

Snyders wins aren't going to get KSU any further than us because they too are in the middle of a field in an unpopulated state with two big schools. VTech the wins helped but it is the population out there that is truly driving them with those wins.

Would have been nice for ISU to win in the clutch for the first time.....ever.....but it would have been crushed in the title games, too. What were they, 66-3 and 70-3? Something like that. The North was horrid those years. Let's call a duck a duck. Would not have vaulted ISU to anything, altho it seemed like it might at the time.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -
