DALLAS, Tex -- A highly-placed source tells KCTV5 that the head of a television network has again told Big 12 officials they would like to form a Big 12-Pac-10 Network and that the conference's next television deal is lucrative enough to keep remaining Big 12 teams together.
i guess the only question i have here is can they do this before the current contract expires in 2016 or what ever year that was? if not, then they probably wont stay as they would have already made a lot of extra money by then.
Another potential fear with this scenario would be down the road if the mega conferences happened and the P10 raided only a handful like is being propositioned now. The rest of the B12 would still be on the outside looking in.
All hypothetical of course.
If is a true partnership and teams aren't jumping conferences down the road then this has always been my favorite solution.

I would assume it would "work around" the ABC contract just like the Big 10 Network does and basically takes the place of the current Fox Sports contract (assuming Fox is the network driving the new deal as the article alludes to).
C'mon Notre Dame...this Big 12/Pac-10 alliance would give you good national exposure...the Big 12 North has a seat waiting for you at the table...
The Baptist-Catholic clashes would be epic...(I think those two did play a FB game some time ago...)
There would definitely be a LBJ vs. JFK feel to those games . .
