I don't see KU going to the pac16; I think its either TAM or if they won't go, its Utah.

Re: Kansas to Pac 10 if A&M doesn't accept?
why couldn't a university apply for membership? Make them at least give a vote (would like to see if ISU applied for the Big Ten, if Iowa would vote yes or no)....

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. -
Re: Kansas to Pac 10 if A&M doesn't accept?
The Pac-10 is at 11. If they take TT, UT, OU, OSU they are at 15. I guess they have no interest in Utah? Do they already get that market with the teams they have (seems unlikely)?
Would there be pressure for KU and KSU to stick together if an option like the Big East was on the table?

Exactly, that's why I don't understand why people are mad at Nebraska....

Re: Kansas to Pac 10 if A&M doesn't accept?
KU would take a Big 10 or Pac 10 invite if offered. I don't think they'd like abandoning KSU, but that at least keeps their state from having both major programs go from BCS to mid-major conference. Still, I don't think either one offers them a spot. They and KSU will end up in MWC or Big East, as things look now.

Re: Kansas to Pac 10 if A&M doesn't accept?
ISU needs the remaining core badly. It will be on a geographic island regardless, but having KU, KSU, and MU will at least preserve some semblance of old Big 8 tradition along with decent travel distances to some conference games.

There's people here in NE who don't like the deal either (travel, tradition, blahblahblah...). But they'd be the minority I think, like those of us who are ISU fans. I blame UNL, UT, CU, MU and to a lesser extent the ISU admin for putting their heads in the sand for too long. Can't blame UNL and CU for taking stability and money over the cluster the Big XII has become the last few months. Just hoping Pollard pulls something good out of his ***** on this one as far as conference affiliations. Something in the class of bringing back the Mayor or hiring CPR would be nice.

- Big 12 forms in 1995. Rule changes require a super-majority of 9 votes.
- Big 12 North fans eventually grow tired of watching their teams get their collective butts whipped on TV by the South schools and not getting to watch many other games on TV.
- Colorado and Mizzou start talking about moving to the Pac 10 and Big 10... again.. (it seems like only yesterday).
- Big 10 commissioner announces plans to expand.
- Nebraska sees the writing on the wall for the Big 12 and gets in touch with Big 10.
- Colorado jumps to the Pac 10. And now the dominoes are starting to fall more quickly.
Remember that Colorado and Nebraska were on top of the college football world when the Big 12 was formed. It's no coincidence that they are the first ones to jump ship now.

Amen. I wouldn't think they'd give up 25% of their budget in a year or two without trying to get something else going. They may not have been proactive before things started unravelling, but they can't be sitting on their hands now. I think that's BeeBee's job. They didn't exactly come out with the Hoiberg or Rhoads decision processes until they were done deals.
