It would be negotiated during this year and take effect when the current FSN deal is done in 2011. Thats the way I understand it. The ESPN/ABC deal is over in 2016 I think.

I thought I read our current contract runs through 2014. Could be wrong.

agreed... and it didnt seem like most of their football schools were too attached to their current arrangement

Perhaps I'm just being cynical, but it seems as though Texas wants to keep everyone else hanging just in case they can't negotiate a better place to land.

I fail to see where we would be giving anything up to them in this scenario.

I don't think that is too big of an issue. Texas is being corted by several conferences, and they could probably become an independent like Notre Dame and still do just fine.

or they could just start their own Texas Conference and get enough teams to fill it out.
