Thats the way I understand it. The ESPN/ABC deal is over in 2016 I think.

agreed... and it didnt seem like most of their football schools were too attached to their current arrangement

Perhaps I'm just being cynical, but it seems as though Texas wants to keep everyone else hanging just in case they can't negotiate a better place to land. -

I don't think that is too big of an issue. Texas is being corted by several conferences, and they could probably become an independent like Notre Dame and still do just fine.
