The (supposed) new TV deal?
Would it be evenly split? If TX gets the option of their own network, then I would think that it could be set up that way.
How soon could the new dollars be available?
Would they guarentee to put every FB and MBB game on? If not, can the CTN pick the rest up?

Re: The (supposed) new TV deal?
All anyone has said is 17 mill per school and each school would have the opportunity to create their own network. We know nothing else.

Re: The (supposed) new TV deal?
I would have to imagine this is a joint deal with the Pac12. In that case, I would think that this is 17mil for all 22 teams. Then Texas could set up their own network with all programming not picked up by others. If this is with the Pac12, they will not allow Texas any rights to games before their own network.

That's an interesting thought. If the "beebe" TV deal is based on partnership with the Pac10, then the TV revenue from a B12 south merger would almost assuredly be less, correct? I suppose per school Pac10/B12 merger might be more, because the B12 north schools would consume more than they contribute. Interesting.

Re: The (supposed) new TV deal?
Ol' Chip Brown tweeted the revenue sharing would not be in place with the new deal. Same as it has always been, but guarantees 17mil on the low end.
i.e. ISU, Baylor, etc get 17mil
Texas, Oklahoma, etc get in the low 20s.
Add another 5mil to Texas for their network and they will likely be around 27-28mil

Add another 5mil to Texas for their network and they will likely be around 27-28mil I could live with that.

Has anyone said where in the hell all this money is coming from?

Re: The (supposed) new TV deal?
Props to IcSyU who ran the numbers using the current distribution formula after I complained about it in another thread. Here is what he came up with: Proposed Revenue (in millions)
Texas 19.65728155
Oklahoma 18.99708738
Kansas 18.07281553
Texas A&M 18.03980583
Missouri 16.68640777
Texas Tech 16.40582524
Kansas State 16.37281553
Oklahoma State 16.19126214
Iowa State 15.03592233
Baylor 14.5407767
I believe his numbers are an average of 17 mill per team but UT gets the most and baylor gets the least (just above us). His analysis which shows more than this is in the "Save B12 or Absorb MWC" thread post #86 - sorry don't know how to link there.

Re: The (supposed) new TV deal?
I would assume that a lot of the money comes from TV. The Big ten can get $22 million for each of their teams and lets face it, they have an inferior product they are selling. At least it was before Nebraska bailed out. Now, I think that the Big 12 needs to pick up someone good to fill the gap.

So the Big 12 loses 2 teams (including one of their 3 biggest names in football) and you think the value of the league has increased?
