I know it's late, but what if we just kick texa$$ out of the Big XII and get on with life? More than likely that is the reason the fuskers bolted as well. Wishful thinking I know but it seems to me that they are just too money hungry for anyone here or any other conference they should land in. If they were out of our 'collective Big XII hair' this conference would do just fine in my opinion. I would even say let's try and keep ou if they wish, and who would say that they wouldn't want to stay if texa$$ was out of the picture.

Ok...just a late night thought.

any other thoughts???

Um...because without them we don't get money. If we don't get money, OU doesn't stay and neither does anyone else. Like it or not, they are our ticket to a payday right now.

A Big 12 conference without Texas does not exist. The Big 12 may already be beyond saving.

If it is on the table, and I hope it is, then I agree, it's best to get out now. Texas is about Texas, and that's why Nebraska and Colorado left.

We are pretty much stuck until Tuesday. We can't make a move, because the minute we do, Texas stays, and we're on the hook for 10mil, and we all know they would expect us to pay up before we leave.

We will be in a lot better position in 5 years due to PR, possibly FH and if this thing stays together 17 million a year.

Wrong. We stay put. There will be at least 4 teams left of the Big XII. That keeps us alive as a conference and allows those of us left to collect the exit fees. In a worst case scenario, the Mountain West merges with the Big XII and inherits the BCS AQ status and television contracts. We would probably get the same money as now. Plus a onetime windfall of $20 million. Or we poach certain teams and create a NEW Big XII conference.

We are all in at this point. We are pot committed. We have NOTHING to gain by hitting the panic button.

Couple thoughts...

A. Have you heard of Career Suicide? This isn't a whistle blowers situation where you will be protected if you suggest that Texas is bad for the Big 12, we will be shunned for life, Black Listed, Broke.

B. Texas is the lynch pin that holds the entire conference together. If we get rid of them, the entire south (other than Baylor) will be gone

C. Did I mention that the state of texas is important to conference finances?

D. I know that people have "problems" with playing OU and UT every year but they need to get over it. You can't enjoy the benefits of being a big kid with out acting like one.

E. I would like to see you convince the other schools in the Big 12 to vote Texas out. That would be must see TV.
