Notre Dame?
In theory if the Big 12's remaining 10 teams stay together I would like us to have a championship game. I believe we need 12 teams to make this possible. Texas gets their own network which is what they wanted all along. Add a team like TCU or Utah or whoever. Why not take this deal to NOTRE DAME and tell them to join us and they too can have their own network and now be part of the Big 12! That would really stick it to the Big 10! Thoughts?

Re: Notre Dame?
From my source in the athletic department, the first 4 teams that the Big 12 will pursue will be Utah, BYU, Air Force, and Arkansas. So chances of Notre Dame are slim and none. And slim just left town.

Re: Notre Dame?
I like your thinking. I'm actually OK with just 10 teams, though unlikely long term, because the payout is so good with UT et.al. in the league. So rather than just add any two, go for the top payout.

Re: Notre Dame?
It's about having a national schedule more than anything for ND, I think.

Re: Notre Dame?
The B12 staying together pretty much stops any chance of ND joining anything, until the shifting sands of realignment fire up again between 7/1/10 and 6/30/11

I mentioned this in another thread, but if Mike Frank from IrishSportsDaily is a subset of ND fan, then they feel like the last few years is a blip, and they are waiting to see if Kelly can take them back to national prominence. If that is their game plan, they might be better off taking their current network money to Vegas, and betting it all on Red.

They wouldn't be able to schedule the likes of Michigan, USC, etc anymore. They would gain nothing by joining the Big XII.

Re: Notre Dame?
ND's hand may be forced if NBC bails on ND to Versus. Their whole future probably rests on Brian Kelly turning them around, and fast.
