Revenue sharing

How does the current revenue sharing arrangement work? There's lots of talk that it won't change with the saving of the conference. (For reasons other than money I think it would be preferable to be equal, but no change is understandable. Whatever.) There is also talk that with 10 teams and 5 slots for games, all conference games will be on TV every week.

So my question is, does it matter what slot you are in, or do they all count equally? Are conference games weighted any differently than non-conference games? OK, that was two questions.

If conference games were 'worth' more, all slots were equally weighted, and we maintain 5 slots for 5 games each week, we could actually improve revenue parity (though still not equal) in upcoming seasons. At least this goes for football, which I think we can all presume constitutes the majory of any TV contract.

In basketball I don't know home many slots we have to fill each week but I doubt we get all ten games televised so parity here is going to be more difficult to achieve.

Even though all may be on TV each week, it still isn't an even distribution because the B12 has multiple TV contracts with Fox, ABC, ESPN. So those appearing on the lesser networks and regional networks would get a lesser share still than those on ABC, etc.

I'm curious how the split would work if Texas went 0-10 and we went 10-0?

OK, so what slot (better characterized by network I guess) you are in determines how much of the shared pot you get. As long as we're getting all our games televised we'll be catching up. If we are doing really well in a particular year, maybe even getting equal.

How about the BCS bowl games payouts and other stuff? Does that all stay the same? Im sure Texas and Oklahoma wasnt all about sharing their money with the rest of the league like the Big Ten.
