2011 Recruiting...Texas best OL and DB Class (so far), Nebraska best QB Class

I did the same thing to reply to the guys post about Bubba Starling. Sucks doesn't it.

Bubba Starling who Nebraska signed as is mentioned in that article is also going to be a first round draft pick in baseball. From what I understand his first love is baseball, so that could go either way. Wouldn't be surprised if he did keep his commitment, if he played both while at NU

I would say it's less than a 50% chance Starling ends up at Nebraska because of the baseball draft. Nebraska had a similar situation with Carl Crawford in the late 90's. He signed his LOI but got a record deal for a 2nd round baseball draftee. He chose to play baseball instead of college football. Obviously a pretty wise decision on his part.

The highest rated QB recruit Nebraska has landed since Harrison Beck! Boy was that Beck kid a stud. 5 Star - top rated QB in the country that year. In honesty that was debatable as many had Jake Christenson as the top and Beck as # 2.

All of Nebraska's opponents are shaking in their boots think of the prospects of another Beck!!!!!

Zac Lee would not start for a single Big 12 school, aside from NU of course.

Harrison Beck was only a 4*, and yes it was comical the love fest that surrounded him. It was a perfect "terrible" storm. It was right after Callahan took over. The fans in Callahan's camp loved his ability to recruit the alleged big time players. When he got a commitment from Beck it was like Callahan was proving he could recruit anyone he wanted.

Don't kid yourself though. If Iowa State ever gets a 4* QB they will go freaking bonkers. Recruiting is what it is. Pure speculation. At least it gives us fans something to debate between seasons.

This isn't necessarily directed at you. I just find if funny that ISU fans talk about how terrible Zac Lee is (he played the entire conference season with a torn tendon in his throwing arm that required surgery the day after their bowl game), yet they think Arnaud is going to have this break out season this year. Both QB's played injured. Lee was a first time starter and Arnaud was playing in a new offense. So how is Arnaud poised to have a break out year, but Zac Lee is still going to suck, and according to UNIcyguy, the worst QB in the Big 12? Like I said, by no means am I saying Lee is good, but I would take him over Kale Pick, either of the CU QB's (spare me on the Tyler Hansen thing...he sucks too), any choice K-State has, OSU's guy, and in my opinion it's a toss up between Lee and Arnaud.

Now that I've typed that all out I realize how crappy the QB play is going to be in the Big 12 this year.

Uh, Arnaud was still learning a new system. Lee had a little continuity on his side. Lee had better receivers. He was in an offense predicated on the running game which should have made his passing more efficient. Arnaud was in an offense that, ideally, is predicated on the pass. Arnaud had a broken hand which is a little different than a torn tendon. He couldn't hardly hold the ball correctly. Besides that Arnaud kept drives alive numerous times with tough runs. In the end Arnaud will be better than Lee next season.

I honestly can't think of a QB in the last 1-15 years Lee starts over at ISU. You may say Bret Meyer but with the lines he had I don't know if that is even true. I still think he was better than he was ever allowed to be here. I mean think about it, we have had two QBs starting the NFL the past couple years. Not a lot of schools can say that, especially Nebraska.

A strong Nebraska helps ISU. Everytime they go elsewhere for a recruit they
leave one more for us. ISU has cleaned up in recent years on guys Nebraska
has felt should be honored to to offered a chance to walk-on. Not playing them
every year is just a bonus.
