    Re: Quarterbacks

I have been very critical of AA, but I think he is going to have a huge year. The guy has been through a lot having to work with several different OC's and has never once complained. With an experienced 0-line, ARob, and several capable receivers I think he is going to be the top story in the Big 12 this year.

I think AA is a very good QB but I think Jeremiah Masoli may be a better runner. Pryor doesn't strike me as a person who likes contact or will fight for the extra yard.

I think you're missing what we're saying about AA. He is a gifted runner, but he is more of a smart and physical runner, which is what seperates him from guys like Pryor, Masoli and Casey Kaepernick from Nevada. Those guys are either quicker or more fluid, whereas AA is more prone to putting his head down and fighting for the tough yards and moving the chains.

Ok....When does AA's tendency to lower his head and fight for the extra yard get him injuried. Tiller is an experienced back-up so maybe it's a moot point.

Yeah, I agree. AA will just take the straight line and push forward. Nothing fancy. He knows that's not his MO so he doesn't do it. FWIW-Denard Robinson will be the best running QB in college football this year. Mark it down.

Never. He is made of a combination of titanium and an unknown material. Man has not yet been able to classify said material. All that is known is that it is indestructible. Luckily, AA has donated his body to science so in 60-70 years we will be able to dig deeper into this and classify it.

You're assuming they will be able to cut him open to do that analysis. It may take another 30 or so for that.

I agree 100%. I thought AA looked much better in the bowl game. His INTs weren't even bad decisions as much as bad throwing mechanics. Similar to most of his INTs. Supposedly he has worked hard on those mechanics. If that is the case and they don't rear their ugly head during key moments, we will be very, very good offensively

There is no doubt that chizdick's philosophy was to build for the future. Playing the true freshman, rotating OL to different positions, give Bates a shot at QB toprove he should make the position change, etc.
Now I am not saying I agree but that is what he was doing.

Agree witheverything but Bates to RB. He ran way to upright and would have gotten killed.

    Re: Quarterbacks

Hopefully after two years in this system Herman has improved AA's ability to read defenses and pick the right receiver. That was my biggest bone last year but it's really tough adjusting to a new system and developing how a different OC wants you to.

That ability is what set Chase Daniel and Todd Reesing apart. If AA can improve even just a tad in reading the D and not forcing the throw, our offense is primed to make huge strides this fall.

agree, but he still could have got him involved a lot more in the offense. Put him in the slot, end around, etc

Except Bates wanted to play QB. I think we saw just why chizdick kept him at QB. As soon as AA got more snaps, Bates quit.

Phil wanted to play quarterback and only quarterback. They asked him to play receiver and he wanted no part in it.
