The only scenario where I see UT possibly bolting the B12 is if the Longhorn Network fails miserably and TX politics somehow get to the point of not being a factor with such matters. Very little chance of both happening.
Due to their long-time interest in having their own network, I was surprised their dance with the Pac-10 earlier this year got as far as it did. Larry Scott was clear all along that UT would forfeit their video rights by aligning with the Pac-10 and their conference network. And I was under the impression there was no way they would give up those rights. Same issue applies to the Big 10. The SEC is different but UT has historically made it known they don't want to be affiliated with all of the 2nd and 3rd tier academic programs in the SEC (and they don't want to open up TX HS FB recruiting to more SEC sharks). Honestly, that's probably the biggest reason that Texas will never join the SEC.

It was directed at those arrogant orange-clad bozos from Austin. The point of the post was that because of their uncontrolled arrogance, UT continues to burn athletic bridges throughout the country to the point where they won't have any options left if they decide they don't like the Big 12 any more. Nothing more and nothing less! You need to take a "lighten up" pill, big guy!

For the most part all of your posts do tend to come off as "Ha, ha you poor ISU suckers are stuck on a sinking ship". I'm also not sure you quite understand that your opinion of Texas is pretty close to many people's opinion of Nebraska.

Re: Maybe the Big 12 Will Survive After All!
I live in this horrible state and I run into these types of fans all the time... they can say they are putting down UT but in reality they are just being those great fans we hear about... they have mastered the art of slapping you in the face while saying they respect you... it should be interesting to see how they are going to fit all those heads in one stadium when they play EIU

Nebraska is the girl that used to be pretty but has gained too much weight, and her face has broken out. She still thinks she's popular and pretty, but hasn't realized she's not the girl she used to be and never will be. I think Nebraska football will always be a decent program, but they will never again be perenial powers like Texas and Oklahoma.

Re: Maybe the Big 12 Will Survive After All!
Texas would have jumped to the PAC 10 in an instant. They were out the door, with their biggest pals coming along for the ride. A&M basically killed the deal by courting the SEC, since they didn't want the west coast travel schedule. UT wouldn't go for the SEC for a number of reasons, so they were left with staying Big XII, not choosing to do so. Texas, for all their bluster, wants some of those familiar faces, if for nothing else as a group of teams for close road/home games which will fill stadiums.
All of it is just a wake-up call to ISU to get the program and facilities in order before the next round. Can't rely on these other guys to look out for our interests.

I can't wait until the huskers are gone ... maybe then they will leave us alone ... probably just wishful thinking?

Again, if Texas REALLY wanted to go to the Pac-10, they would have gone, with or without A&M. The Pac-10 wouldn't give Texas what they want, and now the bridge is burned. The Big 12 is a better deal for Texas, and that's great for ISU.

P.S. . . poor ISU "cribbed" NU last year without our starting QB and league leading rusher. Can't wait to see NU get educated in the Big 10/11/12/?? ! Also can't wait to see NU get jobbed in the Big XII this year . . . you don't think the refs and fans will take their shots?!
