I thought the Dave & Busters was a nice idea. Since the field temp. was so high a break from that probably wasn't bad. Who knows how this staff is going to coach on the field but with 11 3-star high school commits already (from a team that one won conference game last year) I don't think you can argue with their recruiting. If they give Gill and co. a chance he's going to bring in the talent and KU will be fine.

Not exactly how you want to start off your tough hitting Hard Knocks rip-off...with tough hitting...video games and food? What?
I'm not mocking the coaching staff's potential, as much as I am this pretentious mockumentary. That style works for the pros...I'm not so sure about college.
I realize KU is not being picked to be a world beater this year... but they're still the most overrated team in the Big 12.
They may win more games than us because of our meat grinder non-conf and conf schedules, but I'll be shocked if they finish above us in the Big 12 standings. They lose a ton of talent, some of their greatest players ever, and they are going from a coach who was an offensive wide open genius (the only major winner they ever had) to a new coach who is known for an old school running attack.
How on earth that gets them picked ahead of ISU coming off a 7-6 year blows my mind.
Lets not go overboard. Mangino had the greatest single season KU ever had but his conference record was actually worse than Mason's. Plus Mason got zero support from KU who at the time didn't spend any money on football. Mangino had the advantage of an administration that has spent record dollars on football. Mangino was a great offensive coach but once he ran off his DC the defensive coaching became pathetic. I think ISU has a good chance of winning the game in Ames but I wouldn't completely right KU off. They've had better recruiting classes for the last 4 years in a row so Gill isn't inheriting the lack of talent that Mangino did. Plus he assembled a staff that on paper blows away anything Mangino ever had.
I think the so-called experts aren't saying KU will be better than ISU. I think they are just looking at ISU's schedule and thinking ISU doesn't have a lot of games on that schedule that they will be favored in. I bet most experts think the one conference game ISU will be favored in will actually be the home game against KU.
