Re: Ames BWW opening March 21st
Yeah it's a bit over-priced. No they are not the best wings in town. I'll still go there to watch away games because I like the atmosphere and they always have top notch TV selections and are good about getting the games you want to see. If that place is not DECKED out in Cyclones gear I will be severely dissapointed. Even though it is a chain, this location needs to set itself apart as the "Iowa State BWW".
One other big benefit, the patio. Not enough patios in Ames. I frequent West Town Pub in the Summer just for the chance to sit outside on a nice day.

Getting excited over BWW is much like getting excited over your next bowel movement. Strangely enough, the two are connected.

I usually get them to go so I don't have to worry about the service. Plus the beer is cheaper at my house.

I have never been impressed with BWW. Food is average at best.

Re: Ames BWW opening March 21st
anyone tried BWW's new menu items? I think they added a couple big burgers and the Southwest Flip.
the SW Flip is a good time. basically one of their flatbread pizzas folded over on itself - but just plain good.
and my go to is the Boneless Honey BBQ - wet.

I ventured away two time for ribs, and they were hands down the worst ribs I have ever had. I only tried a second time because the first time they were so awful I figured they just got messed up, but they were the same poor quality both times!

not really a rib fan - so I've never tried them.
just order boneless, wet, in either Caribbian Jerk, Honey BBQ, or Mango Hab ... and enjoy heaven.

Re: Ames BWW opening March 21st
Best wings in Ames used to be at Peoples...nothing would beat going there on a monday to get wings cheap and stay for the cheap beer for the monday night game. Loved Peoples special sauce!

Re: Ames BWW opening March 21st
Love the atmosphere and boneless wings at BWW, but I ordered off the menu once, and will never do it again. Yuck.

Re: Ames BWW opening March 21st
Cool. Good for Ames. It's almost a full-grown Big 12 community!
I just hope this doesn't imperil the HOT N ZESTY wings at West Cyde. Those are my local favorite.
