The BOR tried to sell it off during Eaton's watch, but couldn't get it done. There were also rumblings during the Parks era.
Board of Regents moves forward on ISU presidential search
On Wednesday in Iowa City, the state Board of Regents agreed to hire Atlanta’s Parker Executive Search, one of the four firms that made pitches at the April 28 Regents meeting, to direct the search for Iowa State’s next university president. College of Business dean Labh Hira and alumnus Roger Underwood (’80 ag business) of Ames will co-chair an 18-member search committee. The Regents pointed to Parker’s experience on campus, including its role in the university’s 2006 provost search, as a strength. President Gregory Geoffroy announced in March that he will leave his post by July 31, 2012.
