Regents Propose 3.75% Tuition Increase

The Iowa Board of Regents next week will consider a 3.75 percent tuition increase next year for Iowans attending the state’s three public universities, according to a proposal released today by the board.
The University of Iowa would also increase fees by 3.75 percent. Tuition and fees at Iowa State University would jump 3.2 percent, because of no increases in fees.
The University of Northern Iowa would impose a fee increase, bringing its total increase in tuition and fees to 3.88 percent.
Tuition and fees for nonresidents would rise 4.7 percent at the U of I, 2.48 percent at ISU and 3.82 percent at UNI.
Tuition this year jumped 5 percent for Iowans, and 3.5 to 6 percent for nonresidents.
The proposed hikes could change, depending on funding from the legislature, the proposal said.
The increases would be in line with inflation forecasts in higher education costs, the proposal said.

I'm sure you know that coach salaries do not come from the general funds of the university and have no effect on student tuition.

Could be a lot worse. They're saying 9% here in Colorado. Seems like when I was at ISU we had years that were way worse than 3.75%.
