    Re: State Gym Renovations Tour

I wonder how many more people will go to State than Lied now? I bet there would be a lot of people that go to State for basketball now except when intramurals are going on. Also looking at all the machines I bet there are a lot of college girls that go to State as there are a ton of machines.

On the plus side I heard they are bring back water volleyball and intertube basketball which was suppose to be the best intramural sport.

I just hope it frees up space at the Lied weight area.

That would have been awesome when I was there, spent my last few years living on Campus Ave just two blocks away!! Definitely a far cry from the ol' State Gym used to be...

That would have been sweet to use. I am glad I paid a bunch of money and never got a chance.

Wow, that isn't the State Gym I went to in the 70's that is for sure. We also didn't have the leid center. When we wanted to run we put on the sweats and went outside, even in winter. That was not ver motivating. Pretty darn nice, I wonder how much use it will get.

Wohoo! only $107 per student per semester for about 23 years for this!
Glad the suspended track is still there. Been running on that since junior high school.

Looks very similar to the new rec. center at Univ. of Iowa. As staff, we pay $12.50/month.

    Yeah, me too.

I still got a ton out of the old school state gym though.

Wow that looks pretty amazing, wish we had that when I was there. Although I kinda liked the charm of old State Gym.

Water Baketball was pretty fun, however nothing beats intramural broomball.

    Re: State Gym Renovations Tour

I hope that it makes for a better experience both in Lied and State Gym. I got so sick of the weight area in Lied being the "Frat Boy" hangout (especially during the semester; summer wasn't that bad) that I went and got an off-campus gym membership.

    Otherwise, it looks awesome!
