I'm thinking of signing up for one of the outdoor rec trips over spring break. I was wondering if anyone has gone on one or knows someone who has and what you thought of it.
A girl I used to date Kayaked the Rio Grande one year and then the Everglades the next. She spoke highly of the experience and enjoyed herself a lot. She did travel with friends - but I think if you find a trip you're interested in it would be worth it.
Went to Wartburg but went on spring outdoor rec trip to Buffalo River in Ark.
First night there was a downpour and the river flooded and they would not let us on.
Ended up spending the next 5 nights in State parks, and the final night, there was a ton of beer brought back to the campsite, and we were told if there was any left, we all failed.
ahh college
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

I'll be going with at least one friend, so I'm not too worried about having to meet new people.
I kayaked the Buffalo River as well. Had a good time other than tipping the kayak 2 minutes in on the first day, having all my clothes soaking wet and then being the last person to camp that night, in the dark. The people in charge also didn't plan a pick up vehicle very well as we had to walk a considerable distance, only to be given a ride by a stranger.
I went on a backpacking trip to Utah in 1996 with Outdoor Rec. ~25 people packed into 2 vans for about a 30 hour drive. Then a 3 day death march through Capitol Reef National Park and a couple days of cold weather camping in Dixie National Forest. It was a great trip.
