Re: Veishea bands announced
This is probably the best lineup since I've been at Iowa State. I use best loosely, but at least they are moving in the right direction. Jay Sean, Iyaz, New Boyz, and Jason Reeves would be the acts I'd go see.... although I hardly am coherent enough that evening to make it out to mole bio, maybe this year I will be. But doubtful.

I've only heard of Iyaz. Replay is kind of catchy, but meh.

Re: Veishea bands announced
They're not the biggest names out there. They have a couple good songs each. I regonize some, but not all.

3 country music artists on saturday WHY ... i looked each of these up on youtube, really disappointed there isn't really any rock band this year, looks like this'll be my second year in a row to not go to live @ VEISHEA

Re: Veishea bands announced
I remember when a crappy group called black eyed peas came and performed in front of an empty auditorium because they sucked... Because they were never heard of.....
Reality - a lot of unknowns with a big country lineup on Saturday. Nice work!

The only difference, if a crappy group named black eyed peas came today, would be the empty auditorium.

Veishea can't afford the huge names - they grab them on their way up. Matchbox 20 was an up and commer when veisha booked them for $20k. Their big hits became huge just before veishea and sold the place out.
Same risk taken on black eyed peas... Just about three months too early. Keep your eye on these groups.

It just seems like they could get a bigger name if they booked fewer acts. That's probably not quite the reality of it though I'm sure. A lot of those artists are probably getting paid very little.

Not sure why they don't thin it down and find some big sponsors on some big names. I understand wanting to make it affordable for students.

Re: Veishea bands announced
Don't mind the bands this year. Way better than the past two years I've been going. Jay Sean and Iyaz are good. New Boyz have a couple of songs on the radio. I'll probably go for a little bit.

Re: Veishea bands announced
Pretty good lineup. My favorite VEISHEA performance is still Nappy Roots.
Kinnick smells like syrup.
