If it really passed copyspace then I wouldn't worry too much. He might want to just discuss what you could do better and let you rewrite it.

I wouldn't mention that you checked it. You wrote the paper and should know without having to check it. That sent a huge red flag up for me as someone that has taught undergraduates.

I wasn't gonna tell him I had checked, but a paper in high school was flagged as plagiarism one time accidentally so I did it for this one.

Of course he would know, but maybe he was trying to see if that was why the prof had an issue?
