Best apartments?
There were a few older threads (2009ect) talking about apartments. Just wondering if anyone else has some reviews of current places. Im trying to find a nice place to live next year (1 bedroom) and might as well start looking now, with everyones advice of course.

Re: Best apartments?
My wife and I live in a 1 bedroom at West Towne currently and it is great other than the internet and TV which can be spotty at times. They also have a lot of one room studio's.

Re: Best apartments?
Don't know if they have any 1 bedrooms, but I would check out Prarie Oak Properties. Its a smaller company in Ames that is owned by a guy who has about 10 or 12 different buildings. He has some in Fountain View as well as some over on Tripp street. I rent from him right now and he has been great. Does most of the maintenance by himself and is available pretty much any time you need him. Myself and two roommates currently rent a 3 bedroom 3 bath apartment from him and we pay $1,110 per month, all inclusive. He takes care of all utilities, we get free internet and we pay $30 a month for Directv. Total we are each paying $380, which is a steal for the apartment we have. The apartment has pretty much all new appliances and is all hard wood floor except the bedrooms.
Like I said, I don't know if they actually have any 1 bedrooms, but it is deffinatly worth a check.

“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

For the OP, I live in Fountain View and I like it here. It's further from campus but it's kind of nice to be able to get on the bus in the morning at its first stop when it's not crowded. I think there's 1 bedroom places out here.

I think there's 1 bedroom places out here. It is a heck of a good deal. I actually lived with Haverkamp for 3 years before moving to this apartment. I never had any issues with Haverkamp, just wanted to jump on this opportunity. My apartment is in Fountain View as well. It's one of the ones in the clear back but walking a little further to the bus isn't an issue when you have a killer apartment. I'm pretty sure there's only two of these buildings in Fountain View.

I PM'd you with the contact info for Prarie Oak. I also lived in West Towne before moving here with no issues. I would say thats a solid option as well.

Anyone know of any 3-4 bedroom houses that will be available for rent beginning August 2013? Close (walking) to campus
