I was at the Dec. '07 graduation where Culver spoke. Don't remember what he said, but it was something to do with his agenda. He spoke some about renewable energies and how ISU is the reason why Iowa is big into that stuff.
My friends and I were so angry at the Alumni Assoc. for their stupid sales pitch. It's completely unnecessary to ask students for money when they're barely out the door. I remember one exact quote that the guy said at ours "Parents, what a great graduation gift to give...a $30 membership for your graduate to the Alumni Association!" Ugh... | TRUE & VALIANT |

We may have had a former Boeing CEO too, but I know Dr. Coffman is still pretty active in coming back for events in the Aerospace department. He was the keynote speaker during this semester's symposium as well.

I didn't go to mine either. Probably because:
1) I didn't want to deal with the traffic afterwards
2) I didn't have any interest in the speaker
3) I was too hung over
