Had a Flying Burrito this morning. Came out so fast, I couldn't finish the story about ISU in the Rag.
It was on my way home too. It was always very good, with one minor problem. I would go to the bar all night, have a Flying burrito on the way home and wake up with a hangover. I don't know what they put in the rice, but it ticked me off.
This just in... "NCAA deems Fighting Burrito name to be offensive to the burrito nation and requires that the Fighting Burrito win the approval of two separate types of burritos or it will be put on suspension."
The husband introduced me to burritos from La Bamba one night when we were out in Broad Ripple in Indy. That was some good drunk food. Flying/Fighting/Whatever Burrito came after my time at ISU so I can't speak on how they compare.
Flying Burritos are not doing so well in Mexico today. Everyone still eating lettuce and tomatos shipped across the border?
Some days I really miss living just a block down the street from that place. Had my first one in a long time a few weeks back, brought back some good memories.
When it got delivered I thought at first that it was an error that they just didn't read that I had wanted double everything so I drove over to remedy the situation. When I got there they claimed that was double! I'm sorry to say that I just can't justify eating there anymore. If I'm going to spend $12 I'd much rather just go to something like the Cafe where I can get consistency...
I think they just eyeball the food amounts which seems to vary a lot from server to server. During 2007-2008, they really cut back on meat, but every once in awhile the server would put more on by accident. I'd like to see them relocate to somewhere on chamberlin so they could put an outside patio out front.
Whoever said that Fighting Burrito is better than Pablos in CF is on crack. I did my undergrad at Iowa and UNI and grew up just outside of Ames. Pablos is the best burrito around, folks.
