Id do take home exams and papers until I was blue in the face if it meant that I could slack off, sleep in, not work, and drink alot again. Hell Id even rewrite my 81 page report that I had in my last semester if it meant I could even have a month of the college life again.

Isn't it the truth! My college years were the best years of my life.

To the OP, take the situation that you are facing and then add someone that you report to standing over your shoulder asking you if you are finished yet. Then add the fact that if you fail you could be terminated and lose your ability to provide for people who depend on you.

You have the world right now. You can carve out your own path in so many ways:
Meet the woman of your dreams
Select a major that is tailor made for you and your interests
Pick the brain of some of the most brilliant people our country has to offer
    Enjoy college athletics
Enjoy a wide circle of friends
Wake up at noon, have a few at 2 in the afternoon, take a snooze, get up head out with your friends.

Bottom line - your horizons are wide open. As you get older and take on more responsibilities your horizons shrink and your duties grow. In short, you are less free to do as you please.

Sorry for being long-winded. Just want you to see how great you have it right now.

Because working 80 hours and supporting your family is so easy. Yes that is better than drinking 4 nights a week, seeing hot women all over the place, and only having one responsabilty in life.

Yeah, I'll agree with that at least for the first 20 - 30 years after college. Now 43 years later I can't do either the partying or the working so it doesn't matter any more. It's a good thing I've retired and got all the time in the world because it takes that long to do anything and there is no desire to get drunk because the body can't take it anymore. When you always enjoy where you are; you will be happy all of your life.

Boo hoo.... and I worked 72 hours a week over the past 7 weeks.... college is SOOOOO hard.

It's all perspective.... when you have kids, a REAL job, a mortgage, a car payment and no life ..... one little take-home test will seem like a walk in the park. Believe me.

AngryPanda, I hope you don't feel like everyone piled on you. We all did. Fact is, life is hard. Whether you are in college, or not. It's all relative. I had the same thoughts as you when I was at ISU. I couldn't wait to be done.

Now, I miss those days, at least the ones I can remember. Those are some of my best memories. That being said, I have dear friends at work, a wife I love more than I thought anyone could, and three wonderfully energetic and unintentionally hilarious boys. I am making great memories everyday.

What am I trying to say? I have no earthly idea, to be honest. Seriously, go ahead and be ****** about homework. Don't let us working guys get you down. You'll soon be one of us and realize the perspective that we are coming from.

Re: For all of you who miss the college life

Yeah college sucks! I mean, who would enjoy sleeping in, getting 3 months off in the summer, 3 weeks off in the winter, 1 week off for thanksgiving, and 1 week off during the spring?

Here's another funny thing that I realized since working full time. The amount of work I do in a week, would be a semester-long project in college. If you think about the amount of work you have to put in during college and compare it to how much work you will put in when you have your career, you'll see why we viewed college as awesome.

Enjoy college while you're there. Live gets crazy when you're done with school.
I don't drink the Kool-Aid, and I am done making excuses. Only keeping it real...

Understatement of the year. I love ISU, but honestly... maybe we could recruit more students from the states of Florida, Texas, and California? We've have to lower our admissions standards though I'm sure.... OH!

Anyways, I just finished an exam yesterday that was a pain in the arse. But now I'm packing for a camping trip I'll be taking next week, so it was well worth it :)
