I was actually there the day it opened. We showed up about an hour early thinking there was going to be a line for the grand opening and the guy they hired to photograph let us in as his "guests" to the private party being held before the opening. Free drinks and a T-Shirt before they opened the doors so that was fun.
Right now, Mickeys is the place to be on Wednesday nights. Dollar drinks til midnight is good deal. It does get pretty cramped in there is the only problem. It is weird to see a line for a bar in the summer.
Doesn't surprise me at all. One of my good friends worked there until the manager drove every employee away this spring. All the old bartenders went across the street to Headliners and Mickey's hired like 30 people temporarily (you got to keep your job by drawing in the most people on certain nights). These new employee's have little to no experience, while the guys before were very strict and well trained for fake ID's (got $10 bucks for every fake the confiscated).
I refuse to go to Mickey's and support that place after all the stories I've heard about its manager.

Yea I was friends with a few the bartenders before they went to headliners. I havent been back to mickeys since they then. I liked all the bartenders so I followed them not the bar. To me the bartenders and other people are more important the what the bar looks like.
