Valentino's? That place is north of Cub Foods now.

If true, that is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen.

There was a place inside the mall by the old Sears entrance.

I guess I shouldn't mention that I've read 0 books...
Re: Hastings going out of business all of a sudden?
Ever since Best Buy and Borders came into town, I wondered how long Hastings was going to be around. There just isn't enough demand in a town like Ames. Too bad, I used to really like that place, but I haven't been in there for at least a year.
Re: Hastings going out of business all of a sudden?
My family used Hastings all the time...that's where we rented all our movies. Sucks. our stance was to avoid the likes of Netflix in order to give more business to ames stores.

Thats too bad.... neat little place that gave the town a bit of character
You could always count on people going there for midnight releases in costumes and the like....
That said I can count on one hand the number times I ever actually went there, and I certainly didn't buy something every time I went. I seem to recall them being rather expensive...

Yeah. They had no sign but I believe it was called Dinner and Desert. Their food was decent but their smoothies were amazing.
