Re: Bali Satay closed?
I'm spoiled in the way of Asian cooking. I grew up in Storm Lake with a lot of Tai Dam friends with mom's and grandma's who could cook like no one else. China House in Storm Lake was fantasic too.
Most of the places I go to in Des Moines, I am disappointed in.
Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -

Re: Bali Satay closed?

I worked at the Villager in Storm Lake - so they have a lot more than Pizza Hut and Taco Johns! Ill have to try that China House out next time we are at the park. If a city has an asian restaraunt, i make an effort to try it. Its a life goal for some reason.

Won't knock you for that. just takes the right random asian family to move to a predominantly white midwestern dump (err.... i mean city) to get a good restaurant going. -

Re: Bali Satay closed?
WARNING: I went to project 20/20 once with a group of friends... I noticed something was a bit odd, but could not put my finger on it. It took me a good 5 minutes to notice all of the dudes making out with other dudes and the guy-DJ dressed in a tutu and fairy wings. Needless to say, I left as fast as my little feet would take me.

Re: Bali Satay closed?
i heard a rumor that that 20/20 was going to be a gay, true, untrue?

Re: Bali Satay closed?
Memo to staff of 20/20:
If your sign says you'll be open at 11 AM for lunch during the week, it might be a good idea to open at 11 AM. Four times in the last two weeks I have tried to eat there with friends between classes because we want to check it out and have heard good things. All four times it has been closed at 11 AM, 11:15 AM, 11:40 AM, and Noon. I don't know when you open and quite frankly, I'm not too worried about it anymore.
I'm sure the delivery man who was there two of the days that we wanted lunch was not pleased either, as he had to wait and got behind schedule.
(and yes, I have called and left a message but never heard back, and once was on hold for over 20 minutes when I asked to speak with a supervisor)
