I hear that MWL is just the place to be if you are looking for social life and I don't want to miss anything if you get me.
And trust me, you won't miss anything. Especially, if you know somebody that lives off campus and has parties, etc. There are also plenty of ladies that live in the UDA. It's also nice if you have friends that live over in MWL, because then you can go over there and party and meet people, but still have a nice quiet place to go back and sleep.
When I was a freshman and soph I lived in UDA, but still had friends over in MWL and old RCA, so most of the time I went over there to party.
I'm finishing up my fifth year living in Friley, and I wouldn't have stayed here if I didn't freaking love the place. It's everything I need it to be. I am a HIGHLY social person, and there is no lack of people here. It can be quiet if you want it to be, but there'a really good reason that Friley fills up first, before any other hall on campus: it's the best place to live. Yes, there are plenty of girls here, but you're not going to be meeting girls in your residence hall in the first place. (You meet them in clubs/organizations, and in class. Trust me.) I have plenty of friends in MWL, and you couldn't pay me to live there. Willow and Larch have an astonishingly high rate of drop-outs and police activity, and Maple is a social graveyard just like any suite building.
Go with Friley. You won't regret it.
From my experience, I am willing to make the bold statement of saying that Larch is the most underrated dorm with regards to shittyness. It is godawful and I would go so far as to say that it is worse than helser. It's like living in prison where the fire alarms always go off, the elevators always broken and the bathrooms destroyed every weekend. Ironically, the night we had our bonfire in the middle of the hallway reaching nearly the ceiling, the alarm didn't go off.
Go with Friley.
Engineering classes are much closer to Friley without question. Also, with the suites right there (Eaton and Martin Halls) trust me there are plenty of women around including those that live in Friley. First floor of Friley houses of Henderson and Anthony are women. Give you a headstart.
I concur with living in Friley if you're going to be an engineering student. Your core classes are just going to be on that part of the campus - even the math and science classes. It was my second-favorite on-campus place to live (I loved living in Roberts Hall in Old RCA more than Friley)
There may be more parties in MWL than Friley, but Friley may offer he better location for access to Welch and a lot of house parties. And if you do want to head over to MWL, it is just a few minutes to walk or catch a bus, no big deal.
So what are the chances of me getting into Friley?
Seriously two pages of housing advice without this breaking into a Dorms vs. Off Campus vs. Greek? I'm going to stop coming to CF if things don't pick up.
Friley. Loved it.
Random roomate=something everyone should try once. If you get there and don't like him sign up immediately for a room change so you're at the top of the list.
Friley Friley Friley.
Also, for those citing the rec being closer to the RCA area. I would look into what all the refurbished state gym is going to provide. Conveniently located to Friley.

Will Basically have all Lied has and more. I can't think of anything at Lied that won't be at Beyer or State Gym, and actually I think State/Beyer will have more.
