Decent time to discuss the new biorenewables buildings. It looks as though they are done with the first phase. When it is all said and done, I think it will look pretty cool.
Never cared for the design building look. Very meh. But I love my new home Howe and the connection to Hoover.
I love how all the buildings are different, yet somehow fit together.
Gilman has new windows? I bet it's still 8000000000 degrees in there though.. any season.
Actually its not too bad. I had an office in the third floor and it was great. Ah the perks of being an undergrad TA. Of course the whole not having any windows on my office wasn't too cool. There were a couple dead weeks where I would go in there without my computer or cell phone so I could get some studying done(ok a lot of studying done, because lets face it, you always have one 'easy' class that you don't study for that turns out to be the scariest final you have, so you have to get all your studying done dead week) and I worked through the night. Went down to the vending machine for some more Mt. Dew and found out it was 6:30am.

You can't die. That would upset the equilibrium in the Cave.
Coolest? The butterfly house at Reiman. Also hard to beat the "Architecutral Building of the Century" - CY Stevens Auditorium. The ugliest? Gotta be the Jacobson Building... Doesn't come close to matching the design integrity of anything on campus or at the ISU center.
anybody been in the Landscape Architecture building lately?
does it still smell like oats?
my first college job was there, measuring, weighing, and sorting oats and the occasional stem of wheat / barley. shoot, i should have made some beer...
I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.
For all of you who have never been in or over to the Business building, I would suggest checking it out. Gerdin is quite an awesome place. and i'm not just saying that because I am a business major.
I enjoy checking out every building that I have had a class in, and other than Gerdin, I would say I that Mol Bio is the best, Science I, by far the worst. But I haven't been into every building yet.
Forker has to be near the bottom of the list. The side facing the tennis courts is kinda cool in that old-school way, but everything else is incredibly boring red brick and I can only think of one classroom that has windows.
Love the MU, Gerdin, Curtiss, and Beardshear. State Gym ranks up there with the old-school gymnasium design and the new windows will hopefully maintain the "look" in a cleaner way.
Bad: Moli Bio. Those statues in the corners are just tacky.
The Moli Bio building has lots of scientific themes incorporated into its architecture. Those statues are G-nomes (genomes) and are holding X and Y chromosomes.
My graduate office was in Science 1 and I can confirm that it sucked.
Loved Old RCA, Curtiss, and Catt for the old buildings. Black for the new buildings.
Hate Design, M/W/L, and Towers. All those buildings could be impoloded.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
The construction of State Gym was completed in 1913, and included a swimming pool, handball courts, and a running track. During the years 1918 and 1919, the gym became a dining hall for army recruits on campus. A fire in 1962 caused some damage and loss of equipment. The gymnasium was renovated in 1967, which included a new track and other improvements.

Had classes there as well. Very cool building. Hard to beat the library. Impossible to beat campus as a whole.
The Stats building (Snedecor) was renovated recently and it doesn't look too bad now. But AtanasofF right next to it is definitely ugly. Another one to add to the ugly list would be the Zaffarano physics addition.
fixed (show a little respect he invented the thing most of us spend our entire day staring at)
I am completely kidding. I agree that Atanasoff is the worst building on campus, but I almost think it was done on purpose. Computer Scientists didn't want anyone else coming in and bothering them with their attitudes on showering and over all cleanliness. So they ordered a tiny hidden building that had no distinguishing feature and that looked like something from communist eastern Europe.
As far as my favorite Curtis and Beardshear top my list something about them just screams college campus.
