Only 6 or so parking violations, but I had a moving violation from Campus PD. The officer cited me for going the wrong way on a one way street. He mistakenly wrote the name of another one-way street on the ticket that went the other way, so I just had to show up to refute it.
At the Armory, there was a room where they heard people refute tickets after they had submitted a written appeal. Sat there for a half hour and my ticket was called. I explained that all the information on the ticket was correct, except that I had been ticketed for going the correct direction on that street.
I told them the officer looked very fatigued and was slurring his speech. I inquired whether ISU Campus Police were allowed to work back-to-back shifts or whether they are allowed ample time between shifts to recover from such a rigorous job. I started to explain how I thought that this was an example of how Campus PD is abused and started asking that the officer that issued my ticket not be given a reprimand or be dismissed because of his lack of coherence.
Didn't get a chance as the old guy asking most of the questions looked over his glasses and just said "dismissed".
