Re: Another Student Death at ISU

Some of you are just downright creepy. It seems like a few actually WANT something larger to be going on here.

Before anyone gets worked up about if the number of deaths is suspicious, let's be sure to keep the circumstances of each one in mind. For example, I have a hard time believing any sort of conspiracy theory behind TJ's meningitis death in April. Granted both Jon's death and this one seem better-suited for conspiracy theories, but the official line in each case is "no foul play". Whether anyone believes that or not, it does make the situation a lot different than if we had a string of deaths that were officially determined to involve foul play.

Re: Another Student Death at ISU

Yeesh... I am not suggesting that the meningitis case (or any of them) are some weird conspiracy I'm just stating that it's weird. It could just be some crazy nothing (most likely), it could just be a string of bad luck. Just saying it's unusual to see this much death in one year for one school... not saying that something or someone is behind it. Though, I do think that 2 of them are particularly odd with a lot of unanswered questions but it's like that with any death so I don't know. Sorry everyone got so upset. I'm not a conspiracy theorist....

I went to ISU for the first part of my college career and Iowa for the second part where I graduated. All I am saying (in my experience) is that in my time at ISU I have seen a lot of death. At least 2 a year for the years I was here before and then when I came back for degree number 2 we see more again. When I was at Iowa there was one student that died and he was drunk and fell off a balcony in plain sight of everyone... there is no wandering off to wash up or be found somewhere later on. Just seems like a lot around here for whatever reason... maybe it's all the fresh air.

As to the Chicago suburb with 30,000 students... the northwest suburbs might as well be one big town, it's not like there is vast open spaces between them and you spend your time interacting with people from all over the area... there were easily that many of us around the area.

Once again, sorry for offending people... there is a difference between a "conspiracy theory" and questioning something that appears to be an anomaly. Yes other schools have shootings etc, but they are all clearly explained events. Ames seems to get some pretty weird deaths if ya ask me. Many of them being "no foul play" but also never being explained.

I know for a fact that there was nothing sinister about the Lacina death. Spoke to someone that was at the crime scene. They made every effort to prove that there was another party in that building, but the facts proved otherwise. Just a freak accident caused by drinking and the weather.
