Fraternities
Hey all i recently signed with a fraternity and i am wondering what to expect with the time commitment for pledge class, parties etc. thanks "Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

Re: Fraternities
This is something you should probably be asking the older members of your house as there is probably a large difference between houses.

What house? That will determine what others can tell you to expect.

A lot of people on here will probably trash on the greek community and that's their perogative, it's not for everyone. Per your question - expect a good time commitment as far as pledge duties. However, it's not so much that you can't handle your academic responsibilities.

Re: Fraternities
I'm currently in SAE. Message me if you have any questions. Many people here have predetermined fealings about fraternities so it's not a very good source.

Everybody in this discussion has bias. Frat reps make them sound better than they are and non-Greeks make them worse than they are.

Re: Fraternities
I once saw a certain star football player spraying champagne on everybody during a VEISHEA 2008 party at SAE so obviously frats aren't all bad.

Re: Fraternities
Fraternity is a good experience for most.

I'm pretty sure SAE was one of the teams I reffed in intramurals and you guys were a bunch of complete douchebags. Greeks are BY FAR the worst people to referee.
