ISU/City of Ames Photwalk
This Sunday I'm visiting Ames for a personal photowalk to try and capture some fun images. I'm familiar with Ames, but not as familiar as I'm sure many of you are, and thus don't know of possible photo opportunities that may be present around the town or campus.
Of course you have the obvious - Reiman Gardens, Memorial Union, etc., but I'm looking for the not-so-usual photo spots that could lead to some inspirational spaces.
I've managed to gain access to the Jack, so we'll see what that presents, and Stephans is closed for the day - are they're other places I should strongly consider?
Thanks in advance!

Where would these be? I probably know, but just not by these names.

Ada Hayden is north of town past the mall on hwy 69. Lago is next to kildee on the north side of osborne in campus.

Lagomarcino courtyard for sure. There is a really cool Zelkova tree in that courtyard. It's the only one I've ever seen in the state of Iowa... I'm sure there are more, but none that I know of.
I would also check out the area south of MacKay Hall. There is a cool grouping of Ginkgo's there. (Another kind of tree)
Catt Hall is also a really cool building to get pictures of, the architecture is amazing.
The Sycamore on the corner of Lincoln Way/University is an awesome tree to take a picture of as well, just diagonal of Hilton. The white bark looks cool this time of year.

Ah Lago, the courtyard for my old Psychology classes. I would have forgotten about that.

the animal science building has a courtyard with a fountain (now dry) that features cows, very hidden but cool

Completely agree! Although his restraining order doesnt allow him to be within 300 feet, so he better have a good zoom lens
Re: ISU/City of Ames Photwalk
My wife took some really cool pictures of Central campus with the Campanile, Curtis Hall and Beardshear. Some of the older buildings like this in black and white exposure turned out cool
Re: ISU/City of Ames Photwalk
I know the Desgin Building added a building on the northwest side and I hear it is pretty cool with grass and other plants for the roof and other ultra sustainable features. Might be picturesque.

I think you're talking about the former Dairy Industry Building, now known as Food Sciences Building. Kildee Hall is the home of the animal science dept. No courtyard, no fountain here.
