Ed Droste

Ed Droste, ISU Alum and creator of Hooters finally got back to me by email, he left me a long email thanking me for supporting ISU athletics. He also added how Coach Chizik was from clearwater florida and that he has spoken with Gene on a couple of ocassions. To me, that was awesome to hear. and it also probably means, without be being a rat and asking Mr Droste how much he gives a year and if he could bump it up, it tells me that he probably already gives a nice chunk of change. He added that he thinks we have some building to do but "they are really excited" Also added how ISU were some of his greatest years in a bunch and they have been very good to him. he also added that he has a building named after him at ISU and he told me to let him know if i am ever in Clearwater and said he will take care of me. I'm debating on accidentally making that my summer vacation hot spot Just thought id let you guys in, He said he comes to a game every year or two with his family. I told him id be excited to see him at a game and would also love the idea of hooters tailgate ( hooters girls roaming the parkinglot with wings) I will let you in on any response i get back from Mr Droste.

You should tell him we would all be for naming our stadium "Hooters Field"

My sister lives in Clearwater Beach (free rooms on the gulf, boat, jet-ski...) and the whole family would love to go back down there but with the daughter headed for freshman year ($$) it will have to wait a while for us. They can all go shopping and we'll go to a beach with Mr. Droste and some of his employees! Beautiful place for vacation.

sounds like quite the vacation, smoke a couple of cigars and sip whisky with mr droste on one of his yachts complete with hooters girls.. that man has the life. I Have his phone number, i should get down there and give him a call. in my dreams...

If we pick up "Hooters field" do we have to change our colors? Or maybe you could ask Mr Droste if the girls could switch to tiny lil' gold shorts and a bit of card trim on the white tanks. Nice

i'm not going to lie, if we had a hooters tailgate, everyone would love coming to Ames for games (not that alot dont already)...but thats a hell of a marketing stunt thought up by the wonderful fans here at Cyclone Fanatic. Can you imagine what kind of publicity and how many tickets we would sell JUST because you can drink beer and eat hot wings before the big game and possibly in the stadium... I think it would get me
