Whoop-de-doo. Crappy web portal purchases crappy sports network. I'm sure all their competition is being brought to their knees, trembling with fear.

I never use either of those services. The few times that I have, I've been thoroughly unimpressed.

News Corp purchased Scout, and merged it with MySpace. It was kind of a two-headed thing: Scout and MySpace acted as separate companies and decided the merger (officially) under their own power; it wasn't forced down from above (officially) by News Corp, though it is the parent company of both MySpace and Scout. Think of them as second-party companies; separate businesses that are wholly owned by News Corp. Actually, I guess it's one second-party business and a large branch of that second-party business, now that Scout is MySpace Sports. What a weird business structure...
