Re: Here we go again - Thunderstorms!

Got dark here quick in Des Moines and can hear thunder although the worst is still north of downtown it looks like.

Re: Here we go again - Thunderstorms!

Rained like a waterfall out here in the Urbandale/Grimes area.

Pea sized + hail. I'd say we just got 1/2" to an 1" in the last 20 minutes or so.

Pretty bright to the west now @ 3:15

I threw the dice when they pierced his side
But I've seen love conquer the great divide

That is a great idea, I would love to see that on a billboard

This storm flopped worse than the 2005 Iowa Hawkeye football team.

I did not know it was hyped up...I heard nothing about rain or a storm until I heard the weather radio go off.

Looks like the Des Moines area is going to get hammered with rain! The weather channel said this storm could produce rain @ 2 1/2 inches per hour!

Round two coming through Urbandale now. Not quite a nasty looking as round one, but still.....

Re: Here we go again - Thunderstorms!

3+" in Grimes since 2 pm according to another guy here in the office. I don't think I have ever seen it rain so hard for so long as it did here in West Des Moines the last 45 minutes. I couldn't see across the road and man was there rotation in the clouds before it opened up. That rotation might have been the start of the tornado that touched down in Norwalk.

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada?

Don't know about you guys... but that was a crazy storm that went through.

First off.. I almost got pushed off the road by rushing water on 141 just west of Granger.

Second... My gf called crying about being in Norwalk while there was a tornado.. So I was stupid and got in my truck and braved the weather.

I have never seen wind and rain like that before. got just to Norwalk at the end of the major part of the storm and trees where completely destoryed along with some houses. We finally got power about 9:30pm. Talk about a long afternoon.
