Cael #8 on Sportscenter's top 10...
They were counting down most consecutive title win streaks at the highest levels. Cael's 4 NCAA championships was number 8.
On a side note, the announcer (not sure which guy it was) almost said Ohio State. He corrected himself after starting out with Ohi--.
Re: Cael #8 on Sportscenter's top 10...
It was Mike Greenberg. He also said that Cael is now the head coach of the Cyclone wrestling program. At least he didn't say Haw-Cyclone.
Re: Cael #8 on Sportscenter's top 10...

I can forgive that. "Ohi" and "Io" are practically the reverse of each other, and if you get you're tongue twisted, it's pretty easy to get the vowels switched around.
Anyways, good to hear about Cael.

I don't have the whole list.
I know these were on there (no particular order):
Cael Sanderson
Michele Kwan
Lance Armstrong
Tiger Woods
Steffi Graph
Martina Navritilova (sp?)
Michael Shumaker
Joe Louis (#1)
I'm missing two.

My mom bought my dad a shirt for Father's Day. It reads "The Buckeyes welcome you to Iowa, the great potato state!" Below it has an outline of Iowa with random cities within in. Des Moines is in the far southwest corner, and then there's Akron and Cleveland and Boise and so on, and big lakes that don't exist.

Another one was the Hot Dog eating Japanese guy. I can't remember his name though. So now I'm missing one.

Three things...
1. I was at the Scheman building when (then president) Gerald Ford was giving a campaign speech while he was running against Jimmy Carter and started by saying "It's great to be here at Ohio State!" (followed by a loud chorus of boos)
2. My favorite quote from a t-shirt-
I'm from Iowa
It's a state.
We grow corn.
Not potatoes.
3. My 2nd favorite quote-
The University of Iowa
Idaho City, Ohio.
p.s. Yay for me! I've made over 100 posts!!

They have a shirt similar to that our at Scheels in WDM!
My personal favorite is the "Not Everything in Iowa is Flat" t-shirt for the ladies!! :yes4lo:

Gotta get the wife one of those! I have been needing a black eye for a while.

The best shirt at Scheels is:
Iowa: Still partying like its 1999.
Man I love that shirt. It is so classic because by the time the music gets here or clothes or trends they are already out of date in the major markets.

That is a high-quality shirt. Those were made by an enterprising grad student at Iowa in the 80s. He was printing them himself for a short while, then having printing places make them out of his own pocket. They got so popular that local stores licensed (or something) the design from him and sold them commercially. They're utterly impossible to find anymore, but they're awesome. (Printed in John Deere green on cornsilk yellow, of course.)
Re: Cael #8 on Sportscenter's top 10...
I could see Armstrong ahead of Cael, but no one else. Undefeated, 4 time champ will never be done again, at least in my life time.

I believe they were listing them in terms of quantity, not quality.

Yeah, not really sure. I know that Cael's "regular season" undefeated record wasn't why he wasn included. It was his 4 NCAA Championships. Meaning he could have lost during his career and still made this list with the 4 titles.
I have to agree, though, that I doubt anyone will ever have an undefeated wrestling record in college ever again.
