TD on Cotlar
"So I'm going to ask you, 'what have you been up to do?'"
mumble, mumble, mumble "since I got released from Edmonton I'm just waiting for a call"
(typical cotlar) "So, were you playing up in Canada last year?"
pause, "yeah"
"where were you playing"
pause "uh, edmonton"
genius. not that TD is the easiest to listen to, but doesn't he listen to the responses and adjust his list of questions so he doesn't go back over something that was covered already. i don't know if I can listen anymore.
Hope is not a method. Soon is not a time. -
Re: TD on Cotlar
No he does not adjust his questions. Seems like he has a list and just sticks to it. He cannot think on the fly.

Only way to get a better choice than what we have now is to not listen. I got XM a few years ago, and I listen to ESPN radio much more than I used to. At least they have good shows and get great guests.

ESPN's Mike & Mike in the AM - it's impossible to turn it to 1460 with those two on the radio.
I mean, where else can you get insight as to what the upcoming baseball steroid meeting will actually be and then days later one of the Mike's milks a cow on air and then is off for a day or two with a "milking injury"? I say again...where can you get this?
Certainly not with Cotlar! -
Re: TD on Cotlar
The problem with national shows for me is that I don't care about baseball, so this time of year I really don't care to listen to it.

Re: TD on Cotlar
Even as painful it is to listen to some of our local radio guys I still do just because I'd rather hear local sports topics even if it is poor radio.

Re: TD on Cotlar
I've had the same complaints about Cotlar. The guy gets some great guests but it is brutal to listen to the interview most of the time.
I had XM but when we moved our office, I was no longer buy a window so I can't get any signal so I cancelled it. I only have a 10 minute drive to work so I didn't listen to it enough anymore.
I did like XM radio a lot though.

CW...did you know you can listen to XM online - or does your company not allow streaming?

Re: TD on Cotlar
I don't think it's ever a good idea to do a radio interview with Troy, especially for Cotlar who has trouble interviewing even the most articulate and well-spoken guests.
I love Troy, but you seriously have to hand-feed him the questions to help him along. Cotlar has a ****** in front of him and his simple mind won't allow deviation from that ******.
Cotlar shouldn't have a show, but somehow he continues to win awards like best sports personality in Iowa, or something like that.
He has pictures of someone important doing something unsavory. You can be sure of that.

Certainly not with Cotlar! I love these guys but without XM or Sirius I don't know how you can listen to them. I have to start recording them before I get in the shower if I want to hear more that 15 min of show during my 45 min commute. I get irritated listening in live time b/c it is talk for 15 maybe 20 then 10 min commercials, 5 min ESPN updates, then back to the show. If you were to leave the house at the wrong time you would end up with more updates and commercials than show. Cotlar and Co. and the local shows are worse. I used to try and flip over to locals when Mike and Mike were on break but that is annoying since the breaks were nearly scheduled the same. Small rant but in the end you are correct. You cannot get quality entertainment up against Mike and Mike. I do enjoy The Herd following M&M on ESPN Radio as well.
