Car tire assistance requested...
Need to replace the tires on my Malibu. I leased it and I only have just over 6 months until the lease is up. 95% chance I will not be keeping the car.
So...Bob Brown wants to charge me $370 to put 4 tires on (labor included). I'm sure I can do better than that on a set of 215/60/16 tires. Quality of tire isn't as much as a concern as price - no sense on dumping money into tires I'll only use 6-7 months.
Suggestions on where I should take it? Someplace on the west side would be preferred.

I bought a set of tires from Braur (sp?) Brothers in Mason City, I think they're a chain.
Regardless, they were kumho brand, cost way less than anything else and have held up great over the last 50K.

It's the same tire dealers sell. They also have a tire maintenance plan that is dirt-cheap (just a few bucks) that they will rotate, replace any damaged tires, etc.

Walmart has some good deals and offer a good warranty. But you probably dont care about warranty at this point?

I got tires from TiresPlus on my Dakota a couple years back. No complaints there. But the perks aren't what you're looking for. Free rotations and service type stuff. Couldn't tell you off hand what I paid, but it was under $400 and that was for truck tires.
We just got tires on my wife's Forrester down at Simon tire. They were about the cheapest we could find for hers. They are downtown, but came recommended to us by a number of people.

There's one about two blocks from me, on NW Urbandale Dr in Urbandale, just north of Douglas.
They seem to be a little higher on most of the quotes I've got in the past, but only by a few bucks. If you took a quote in, I'd bet they'd match or beat it.

Tires Plus? I don't know that doesn't sound too bad for a set of tires really. I think I paid over half that to put 2 tires on a car about 1.5 years ago and that was going with the cheap tires.
Luckily my new car I bought from Karl's in Ankeny has the free tires for life deal where as long as I bring it in to them every 6000 miles to rotate they'll give me a new set for free when the tread gets to 3/8. Considering I have 18" rims on my car a new set of tires would not be cheap!

Barely 10 minutes later and 8 responses already - this is one of the reasons CF rocks!
Thanks guys...I had Wal-Mart in my head and will give them a call. Will give Big O and Braur Brothers a call too.

why not buy quality used tires?

6 months? Why not just keep driving on them... or are you worried they are going to blow before that?

Blowouts rock. It happened to me and it was awesome. Ok not. My spare was flat too when i went to put it on. I am blessed.

Re: Car tire assistance requested...
I'm getting a nasty vibration in the car, otherwise I would keep 'em.
However, it's a pay me now or pay me later situation. With GM, when you lease - the tires have to be in good condition when you return them - otherwise you gotta put new ones on at that time or pay them to do it.
I am more than willing to buy used tires - unsure where to go.
I know where I could get some in eastern IA (where I grew up), yet have not dealt with them here.
