If he plays like he did last year then I highly doubt he will get drafted. Not that he played poorly but it wasn't well enough to get him drafted. I don't know what kind of improvement to expect out of Jiri next year. He could certainly improve enough to make the draft but if he does it will be mid to late 2nd round.

Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
If he could gain some strength, improve his midrange game, and increase his bball IQ a tad I could see a team taking a flyer on him late. The man has some nice post moves and decent foot work. One of the guys from Florida who got drafted averaged like 6 points and 18 minutes a game so who knows what can happen.

Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
Is he Sean's brother or something, never heard of him, but saw he had the same last name???

Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
I very much doubt Jiri will get drafted...he isn't enough of a typical inside "banger", and he's not quick enough, or consistant enough of a shooter from the outside to fit the European big man mold; plus he needs to add muscle...that being said, it sure would be nice if he proved me wrong...

what a bunch of pathetic crybaby losers
Here is a good kid from iowa doing good be happy. I heard on cotler that one of the teams said he was the most athletic player for their teams workout system that they had in 25 yrs. [i love all the naysayers who said he wasnt athletic enough lol]

This whole thing amuses me. Some will just never let go.

Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
I saw his reaction when he got drafted. They called his name and he immediately fell to the floor hoping to get more free throws.

Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
We all need to remember that we have his brother on our basketball team and I'm sure no one would want their brother talked about like some in the Cyclone fanbase talk about Adam.

He grew up 20 miles from me. Can't help but be happy for him. It's just funny how bitter people can be.

Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
I'm very happy for him, I really am. I never held any sort of ill will toward him for the transfer though, I mean sometimes things just don't work out.
As for Jiri, I highly doubt he gets drafted because he's just too slight, not athletic enough, and he's just flat out too old. He's going to be 25 next year.
That being said, he has made himself into an excellent Euro player and since he is from Prague he probably won't mind playing over there that much. He can make some bank over there, that's for sure.

I'm glad a life-long Iowan got drafted...you don't see that often where someone grows up in Iowa, goes to an Iowa college, and then gets drafted. Some people need to realize that he no longer players for the Hawkeyes so they aren't required to hate him.

He's got a shot at playing in the NBA, but I thought Will (in last year's draft) was a lot better prospect and everybody remembers he fell to a little later. First of all, you can delete the "OK"...the Hornets are back in New Orleans full time and the only NBA team that will be playing in OKC anytime soon is probably the Sonics.
A top 10 nominee for understatement of the year..."Sometimes second rounders have a tough time making the squad". In the NBA, a second rounder is a longshot at best...in fact, about 1/2 the first round is a longshot.
I have no animus towards this kid (and it is nice to see an Iowan get drafted because it is rare) but I think his chance to make it in the NBA is infinitesimally small...he just does not have a game that can work in the NBA in my opinion.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -
Re: Adam Goes to Hornets in Round 2
I was pretty surprised to see him drafted too. Sounds like he was down in N.O. on Monday for a workout and must have left a good impression with them. As a fellow Carroll-ian, I'm proud of him. He comes from a good family and he's a good kid himself (despite the fact he went to the dark side). I hope he can make the team, but if not, would be cool to see him playing on Iowa's NBDL team...
