After the season is complete this year, construction will begin on the west side to include suite seating from goal line to goal line in the mezanine level and that will cause a loss of seating. If we bowl in the south end zone (thats a big if because we need to raise the money) I don't think capacity will increase much over the 55,000 we had for the UNI game last year. We packed them in like ants for that game.
Does anyone know how much JT Stadium will seat in 2010 when all of the changes will be done?
Short answer- no. No designs (preliminary or final) have been made public, other than conceptual sketches used to present the facilities master plan to the Board of Regents last year.
That said, the athletic department had actually been planning for the future way back in 1995. When the university was forming its new campus master plan (under which we're operating), they planned to eventually bowl in the south end zone. While specific designs for that addition were never drawn up (since it was a moot point at the time, especially under BVD), they did get a capacity estimate from some architectural or design firm. That report estimated 7,420 seats in the new permanent section. However, take into account that the south end zone bleachers currently hold about 3000 (I think?) and the two hillsides are fairly limitless in capacity, and it's quite possible that we will see a slight downsizing in official listed capacity, and a somewhat larger downsize in actual capacity (thanks to losing two hillsides).
(I don't know anything about seating changes made by renovations to the grandstands.)

True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.
